A New Place, A Deeper Need to Belong
NCR marked the peak of a decade-long reinvention by bringing 2,600 employees together at a brand-new Global Headquarters in midtown Atlanta. The move from six suburban offices to a vibrant urban campus wasn’t just about location—it was about creating a shared sense of purpose and place.
To support this pivotal moment, NCR partnered with Experience Willow to design a transition experience rooted in connection. The goal was to help employees feel a sense of belonging—not just within the state-of-the-art office towers, but within the surrounding community they would now call home. From exploring their new neighborhood to stepping into reimagined ways of working, every detail was designed to welcome, include, and unify.

WHY BELONGING WAS A CHALLENGE
CULTURE SHOCK
The shift from easy-going, tree-lined suburban campuses to the vibrant, high-density energy of midtown Atlanta was more than a change of scenery—it was a cultural leap. For the transition to truly succeed, employees needed more than just logistics; they needed to feel a sense of connection to this new environment and see themselves as part of it.
NEW WAYS OF WORKING
The cutting-edge technology in the new high-rise towers introduced a dramatically different way of working. Without the right support, employees could easily feel overwhelmed or disconnected. Helping them feel confident, included, and part of this new environment was essential to building a sense of belonging from day one.
DESIGNING FOR BELONGING
To make the transition feel less like a move and more like a welcome, Experience Willow partnered with NCR to design two engaging experiences that helped employees connect—to their new neighborhood, their new workspace, and to one another:
All Roads Lead to Midtown
This team-based scavenger hunt encouraged employees to explore 31 local landmarks and test out new commuting routes—building familiarity with their surroundings and strengthening team bonds along the way.
Your GHQ Campus Day 1
A hands-on, immersive orientation helped employees feel confident navigating their new campus—learning how to use flexible workstations, engage with new technologies, and access the amenities that would support their daily lives.
